The 2016 Ford Focus RS is a pretty important car for the Blue Oval. When it was launched in Geneva, it sought to take the mantle of all the "RS" badged hot hatches that came before it, and making some new promises, as well. On top of that, it will be among the first to arrive in the American market when it enters production.
Before that, however, Ford has opted to firm up the vague "315-plus horsepower" performance numbers that were included with its launch. At Belgium's Goodwood Festival of Speed, the automaker announced that the Focus RS would be underpinning by a 345 horsepower 2.3L EcoBoost engine. While this is the same found in the Mustang, it's substantially more powerful.
